Just a screenshot to keep things looking like somethings happening

24.08.2007

It seems I haven’t posted a screenshot in a long time. So, here goes. This one shows the “fullscreen” mode that I added this week. Nothing much there, but it’s nice to have some more room for the video monitor. Hmm. I think I need some audio monitors there too. There’s also some little polishing [...]

I’m back

25.07.2007

I was freed from prison on sunday morning. I’m happy that I’m not there anymore. Twenty days is a long time, when you’re inside.
I’ve noticed that Pihlaja stops crashing doesn’t crash as often when I use it from a console, and have most of the debug output enabled. It seems that if seeks and some [...]

Pihlaja 003 alpha released

1.07.2007

I tried to embed this video, but it didn’t work out, but you can click the link. It’s a small three minute example showing the Pihlaja user interface and even a crash in the middle.
Release notes for Pihlaja 003 alpha (”Well, it’s a start of some sort”)
Six months (or four years if you count the [...]

XOverlay is (almost) working now. Export is next.

28.06.2007

Now the xoverlay works finally (and the dynamic pads are solved too, if you missed the comment I wrote on the “Not yet”-post.)(UPDATE: Nope. The dynamic pads are initially connected correctly now, but as soon as the user tries to switch to another movie and then back again to the original one, the pads don’t [...]

Not yet

19.06.2007

As some might have noticed, there’s been no release yet. Next month might also come too soon. We’ll see. To make a release I’d like two things: export working and the dynamic pads working reliably. Getting the monitor to be an XOverlay in the main window is optional but would make a huge plus. Pihlaja [...]

A look at the project chooser dialog

5.06.2007

Here’s a screenshot of the Pihlaja project chooser, that the user sees when Pihlaja starts. No way to turn it off currently (That will propably annoy some users). I’d need a fourth button at the bottom. The user settings don’t really work, that part is just a mockup. Other parts of the screenshot will tell [...]

11.05.2007

Two prerelease screenshots of Pihlaja. They show the newly added timecode feature.
Saving to XML works again. The loading needs a little more work. Looking good, except for some biggish issues, like sync not working if the file isn’t played from the start, crashing every now and then, and some features usefull for real work are [...]

I’ve started a Pihlaja development blog

5.05.2007

I’ve been thinking that this really is starting to look like a blog, so I’ve decided to create one. So here we are. It’s easier for me to update, and so I might write some more posts (maybe). All new posts will go here. The sourceforge page might be used for project presentation and project [...]

Linking some scenes together

Here’s a screenshot that shows some of the stuff implemented that I’ve been planning for a long time now. I’ve restructured some of the gnonlin stuff, and I’m not yet sure, if I’m using GStreamer correctly or not. But it’s all quite easy to change at this point. Everything is working quite well. [...]

Pihlaja is able to use gstreamerD

Here’s two new posts (I had my connection close some ports for a couple of weeks so I couldn’t update this site).
Pihlaja is able to play .mov and .dv files and .ogg audio on a single track. It is possible to move the video edits around the timeline, but it is not yet [...]
